Prepare your personal tax return asap so that you know how much you have to pay in January 2026, without any surprises.
0
Forecast all your taxes and put aside the money as you go (I know this is easier said than done, but if you can build towards this it will reduce your financial stress).
0
If you are expecting to need to borrow money, borrow it before you need it and when your bank statements and credit look good.
0
If your budget is now looking unrealistic due to global turbulence, either button down how you could still achieve it, or reforecast, profit is more important than revenue, so see if you can still achieve your profit goal with less revenue.
0
Look at what else your employees would like besides pay rises , for example flexible working.
0
Learn about anything new that can help your business, example machine learning, AI, new system, off shoring, outsourcing etc.
0
Keep on top of your numbers, regular reviews with your accountant and ideally monthly management reporting, and with key info daily or weekly.
0
If you can’t pay a key supplier, talk to them to see if you can agreed extended terms rather than ignore them.
0
Motivate your employees and appreciate them, break up the things you need to achieve success in the business and see if you can get each one to do their part.
0
Be positive, celebrate every little achievement along the way.

Bonus tip: Do let yourself have a break, you need to have energy, focus and drive to succeed and you need to take care of yourself with good food, exercise, rest and joy.
