Theale- and Paddington-based practice, Goringe Accountants, is continuing its expansion with the appointment of a new Client Manager, Martyn Oosterveld, ACA ACMA.
Martyn grew up, trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in Cape Town, South Africa. He, his wife and children emigrated to the UK earlier this year.
For ten years, I ran my own accountancy practice in Cape Town. Prior to that, I’d worked in the City of London and as a corporate accountant in South Africa in insurance and then banking.
Martyn brings a wealth of experience in a range of sectors, including engineering, manufacturing, construction, estate agents, solicitors and property. He works closely with the Goringe Accountants team of tax advisors, bookkeepers and accountants to ensure they’re delivering the best possible service to his portfolio of clients—most of whom are SMEs or family-run businesses.
I’m responsible for making sure that their accounts, taxes and VAT returns are all completed on time, and I also offer general business and tax planning advice. I’m really enjoying working here. I’m looking forward to having a positive impact on my clients.
It feels wonderful to review figures in detail, offer advice for changes and then see improvements in my clients’ next set of accounts as a result of their implementing that advice. It’s tangible evidence that I’ve given a good service and it’s hugely rewarding.
Goringe Accountants Founder-Director, Nicky Goringe Larkin sums up:
We’re delighted to have Martyn on board. With his experience of running his own practice, he fully understands what it takes to delight a portfolio of clients, whilst managing and mentoring a team. We’re looking forward to Martyn’s contribution to our growth and that of our clients.
