Client Manager

Location: Reading, Berkshire
Occupational Category: 13-2011.00 Accountants and Auditors
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £40,000 to £45,000, depending on experience

Goringe Accountants seeks an ICAEW or equivalent accountant and auditor for modern growing accountancy practice based in the Reading area.

The candidate will look after a portfolio of clients. The role will be predominantly accounts based, with 25% of time working in the audit team.

  • ICAEW or equivalent accountant and auditor
  • Accountancy practice experience
  • Enjoys working with a wide variety of clients
  • Is an RI or is expected to achieve RI in the next 12 months
  • Essential to have excellent communication skills and enjoy building long-term relationships with clients
  • Maintains highest technical standards

The right candidate should be self motivated, enthusiastic, technically excellent and be able to prioritise workload and have a professional manner with good attention to detail. Full, clean driving licence and use of own vehicle appropriately insured is required.

Trainee Accountant

Location:Sulhamstead, Reading, Berkshire

Are you keen to build your accountancy career with an independent and award winning practice who have gained a great local reputation? We have an opportunity to join a growing practice offering a full range of accounting, tax and audit services, supporting a varied client portfolio.

As a trainee accountant, you’ll be working closely with the team of Client Account Managers and assisting them to:

  • Prepare and complete VAT returns
  • Complete bookkeeping from client records
  • Prepare sole trader and limited accounts
  • Deal with general enquiries from clients
  • Chase up clients to gather correct documentation

Ideally you will have achieved the Level 2 AAT with the intention to continue your learning. You’ll enjoy working in a team environment and demonstrate a hands on and task focused approach to your work. With excellent communication skills you’ll bring some experience of liaising with customers or clients, be comfortable working under pressure and show an excellent attention to detail.

Business Operations Administrator

Location: Reading, Berkshire

Goringe Accountants seeks an enthusiastic Business Operations Administrator. Do you enjoy being at the forefront of a business operation, interfacing with clients (via telephone and in person) and providing an efficient level of support to a team? A role with plenty of variety is on offer with a fast growing, ambitious and award winning accountancy practice based near Theale. Ideal hours – 9.00am-3.00pm (Mon-Fri but will consider a 4 day week); 1 hour for lunch – though flexibility will be offered to accommodate the right person. In time, there is room for the hours to increase.

Working on a part time basis across 4 or 5 days a week, you’ll report to the Operations Manager and tackle a variety of responsibilities to keep things running smoothly in the office.

On a day to day basis you’ll look after:

  • incoming and outgoing post
  • telephone enquiries and taking messages or directing to appropriate staff members
  • handling meeting room bookings and diary maintenance
  • some PA responsibilities for the MD
  • filing (it’s important you love filing and want to keep on top of it!)
  • greeting clients
  • correspondence as required
  • banking and card payments as needed

There will also be a number of client facing related tasks, so good eye for detail and accuracy is important. This might include for example;

  • Updating work flow trackers
  • Regular checks to make sure no deadlines are missed
  • Liaising with team members to ensure steady flow of work
  • Year-end emails to clients
  • Chasing of records
  • Management of client records

You’ll be confident, be able to handle various demands on your time and be a great organiser, with the ability to manage your day effectively.
